Reasons why nonbinary Crowley is the rep I feel seen by

- dresses overwhelmingly male, with feminine elements, and on occasions entirely feminine; i.e. he mixes it up

- hairstyles alternate every decade which in human terms is like every other month (I feel called out), also the styles vary between masc and femme

- never changes pronouns, which makes me think he doesn't give a shit, and since I, also, don't give a shit about my pronouns this is *chef's kiss*

- he doesn't change his body even though he very likely has the power to do so. not once do we see him with wider hips, narrower shoulders, or boobs. he keeps the same tall gangly male presenting body throughout, even if he's wearing lipstick and a dress and going by "nanny". because! bodies! are! not! gendered!

- being nonbinary is so completely Othered at times that I'm honestly more likely to identify with a non-human nonbinary character than a human one because the human one doesn't give me that "it me!!" feeling

- relatedly, I lean more towards agender than genderfluid these days which also means I latch onto any and all characters who are functionally agender no matter which gender they present as

- he is a flash bastard and I am also a flash bastard

I wanted to ask about Beelzebub’s hat, like what did you guys make it out of? I’ve been planning to make one for myself to wear out but have no idea where to start.

The first hat was improvised. We had big fly eyes that were meant to go over Anna Maxwell Martin’s eyes. The day before we were going to be shooting (her first scene was on the airbase) I went into the hair and makeup tent and was told that was not going to be possible. So we had the “eyes” and I suggested we just glue them to a hat and add wings and antennae. And the next day that was what Beelzebub wore. So it was literally a bowler hat with two things that looked like fly eyes glued to it and some bits of wings made of gauze and a couple of black pipe-cleaners.
