thinking out loud
This is… So, so accurate. So accurate. SO accurate.
kittyofalltrades asked:
I have a smallish writing question. Have you ever written something that upset you but was necessary to further the storyline?
Many, many times. Kill, or hurt, a character you like and care about, and it hurts. But if you as an author don’t care about what happens to a character, nobody reading is going to care either…

I don’t think any of the angels we meet in Heaven have read the Bible, except to look through it for the bits they were mentioned in and (in Sandalphon’s case in particular) to grumble that they aren’t in there by name.
Aziraphale tends to regard the Bible fondly, but not authoritatively. Remember, he was there.
In the book we learn that Aziraphale owns
the original scroll in the shaky hand-writing of St John the Divine of Patmos, whose ‘Revelation’ had been the all-time best seller. Aziraphale had found him a nice chap, if a bit too fond of odd mushrooms.
And it’s a verse from the Revelation that Aziraphale is checking. So that’s a no on knowing the Bible by heart.
Aziraphale has memorized the Winnie the Pooh books, several Georgette Heyer novels, and Bobo’s Modern Coin Magic, though.
I kind of really want to send Aziraphale a copy of The Magic of Johnny Thompson. He’d love it, I’d bet…
Well, I love my copy. But I worry that Aziraphale let loose on Johnny Thompson would just result a lot more unfortunately late doves.

Mr. Neil, so between the Eden scene and the Noah scene in Good Omens, it is 1,000 years, yes? If you’re going by the Bible, the number should be somewhere around 1,500 years
1656, if I remember correctly, per Archbishop Usher. Yup. I picked a thousand years because it felt neater, as a period of time in which Aziraphale and Crowley hadn’t run into each other.

From @foster_kittens: “Sam still gives me a “I will sink my teeth into your thumb-meat if you get near me” look when I come into the room, but she melts when I start petting her. I’ve been quietly folding laundry in her room so she can get used to me. She’s a good mom, and her babies are doing fantastic.” #twitterweek #catsofinstagram [source: https://ift.tt/2ZACU6B ]
