My enby kid (age 7) is completely obsessed with Good Omens because Crowley and Aziraphale aren't gendered like humans (not to mention the rest of the angels and demons). As a result I have to endure multiple questions a day about them and their sartorial choices, which I am 83% sure is going to result in a child dressed like Crowley by age 13. Any rate, just wanted to say, my starved-for-characters-like-them kid is delighted by the series, so thank you.

You are so very welcome!

camphoteric asked:

I know literally everyone does it, but are you ok with artists selling fanart of good omens? Also if you aren't the person to be asking this, who is? (trying to prove a point to my dad or learn things, depending on the answer)

It’s a grey area. I’m absolutely fine with people making art inspired by something we made, and selling it to likeminded people. At the point where people start reproducing the things they made and selling the reproductions the grey edges into red, and that’s the point where people can find themselves getting “don’t do this” letters from people whose job it is to send such letters.

Hi Neil - I was wondering ... In the shot of the car interior where we see the book of the Nice and Accurate Prophecies, it seems to be resting on something tartan. As we know this had to belong to Aziraphale rather than Crowley, am I correct to assume that it's the tin of shortbread referenced in the script book but not referred to onscreen?

You are indeed correct.

SO. IM REWATCHING GOOD OMENS.

And the scene where Hastur is named as the guide to Warlock & his family... Hastur is asked his name... and he says. Hastur Lavista. hASTUR LAVISTA

I CANT

Neil if you ever see this, do you know who came up with that? cuz it's freaking hilarious

neil-gaiman

I came up with it and put it in the script. I loved the idea that he needed to come up with a last name fast…

With the exception of the end of Crowley and Aziraphale’s conversation (where Aziraphale does the coin trick) at the Dinosaur Park in Episode 1, and Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell’s “Sergeant Pepper” line, I wrote the whole thing.

Hey, Mr. Gaiman? Would you mind terribly if I started digging through your blog and making a sort of FAQ or at least categorizing the things you've answered, because I keep seeing the same thing a trillion times, and I know you've seen them even MORE than that. I won't say it's an official anything, just a work in progress, probably grouped by work and then under that, the most asked.

I’d love it if you did.
