uhh so I don’t know how much fic you read but I’m having an iffy day and was wondering if you had some fluffy gomens recommendations? thank you so so much and if you don’t that’s fine don’t worry about it!

ineffablegame answered:

Hey my dude!  I’m sorry you were having an iffy day and that I couldn’t respond to this in a more timely manner.  I hope you’re feeling better now, but if not, here are a few fluffy fics you might enjoy:

listen (he’s already told you five times) by @forineffablereasons

This is a little look at how Crowley expresses his love through actions and how Aziraphale learns to see that.  It’s very soft and sweet, and Darcy’s writing is really poetic and evocative.  Seriously, go read all her works, she’s one of those authors who makes you want to be a better writer.

the bucket list, also by forineffablereasons

Aziraphale and Crowley make a list of “human things” to do.  From putting together IKEA furniture to picking up a new hobby, the pair navigate the mundane wonders humans have perfected.  Also, see all the above ranting about author’s talent, etc.

Try Something Simpler by @theladyzephyr

Aziraphale asks Crowley to dance with him.  Short, sweet, and tender.  <33  This is a part of a ficlet series with several other fluffy chapters.

An Angel who did not so much as Fall In Love as Settle Into It Gradually by theladyzephyr

This is a longer look at 6000 years of history between Aziraphale and Crowley.  Fitting neatly into the timeline created by the TV series, it focuses on Aziraphale’s perspective of slowly falling in love with Crowley.  This can also be listened to in podfic form by @podfixx.

And I’m gonna plumb the depths of fandom history because I love this author, even though they are no longer active in the GO fandom:  The Revenge of the Houseplants by HJ Bender.

Book-verse GO.  Hastur, determined to get vengeance on Crowley, gives Crowley’s houseplants a little more autonomy.  This one isn’t fluffy per se, but it’s funny and very well-written, with spot-on characterization and perfect dialogue between Aziraphale and Crowley.  This is also part of a series, the other chapters of which are a little more angsty and violent, but the series probably won’t be finished (although it does end at a good stopping point).

And I’m never one to pass up the opportunity to plug my own stuff, so here:  Blank Cards and Infinite Stakes, by Zingiber.

This series is a bunch of disconnected shorts with various word- and Tumblr-prompts.  Fluffier chapters are 1, 2, 4, 6, and 11.  If you want to avoid angst, don’t read 3 and 10.

I hope that helps!  If anyone has suggestions for good fluffy fics, please add them in the comments!  I’m also always looking for fic to bookmark. :)

For @ourfinaldecember or @apolesen: the last couple of sentences of The Turing Test, illustrated.

The Doctor led us up, into the fire that was not the fire of salvation but the sort that burns, with smoke and hurt and tortured bodies and death. He walked arm in arm with Turing, and they talked, probably about miracles and the mysteries of the universe, but I couldn’t hear them anymore. And anyway, it was probably all in code.

Prompt 20/20, but stay tuned for an extra prompt from my friend Scooter because I can’t count and said ‘yes’ to 21 prompts.
