Bodies aren’t meant to stay the same. We are supposed to grow and change. We shouldn’t be making people in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, etc feel like they need to strive for the bodies they had in their teens and 20’s. Or making people feel like they “need to get their bodies back” after they have had children. These mindsets aren’t healthy and change is inevitable.

Hosea 14: “He will blossom like a lily.”

By request, this is my translation of Hosea 14.  The book as a whole is a challenging one, especially for feminists; it contains some graphic and brutal passages.  But in this final chapter of the book [1], the authors finish with a note of undimmed hope: if the Israelite people return to their patron god, then he will nourish them abundantly.  See below the cut for some important notes and a small excursus.

Oh Israel, come back to YHWH, your god,
       for your guilt has made you stumble.
Come back, laden with words, to YHWH.

Tell him:
“Relieve our guilt; receive our goodness.
       Then we will use our lips to fulfill our sacrifices. [2]
Assyria cannot save us;
       we will set aside stallions [3].

'Avengers: Endgame', 'Game of Thrones' Lead the 2019 Saturn Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 2019 Saturn Awards have arrived, with Avengers: Endgame in the lead on the movie side and Game of Thrones taking nine nods.

Good Omens has 3 Saturn Awards Nominations!

1. Best Streaming Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Action/Thriller Television Series

2. Best Actor in Streaming Presentation - David Tennant

3. Best Supporting Actor in Streaming Presentation - Michael Sheen

While we might raise an eyebrow about Michael being in the supporting actor category, it allows both our boys to be nominated and not competing in the same category :).

The Saturn Award is an American award presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films; it was initially created to honor science fiction, fantasy, and horror on film, but has since grown to reward other films belonging to genre fiction, as well as on television and home media releases.

The winners of the 45th Saturn Awards will be announced on Friday, September 13th, and be available to watch via live-stream for the first time in the event’s history.
