Tiptoeing in Plate Mail

My players consist of a fire elemental monk, one half-elf rogue and one half-elf sorcerer, a warlock elf, a kenku fighter and an aasimar paladin. They’re currently entering a barbarian dragonborns lair to rescue a duchess.

Paladin: I’m going to follow the warlock through the side window. *Rolls d20* yes!!!

DM: okay, but since you’re 6'1’’, wearing plate mail, and climbing through a small window, I’m gonna have you roll with triple disadvantage.

Paladin: no!!! *she rolls anyway, and gets two more d20s*

The party is shocked into silence.

DM: … You seamlessly slip through the window like you do it on a regular basis.

The table then erupts in laughter.

Later, it was ironic because the rest of the party rolls hilariously bad and they attracted attention anyway.

Soooo I realized that huhh well I still have my tumblr page. I was thinking about that maybe I should bring it back to life!

So. I read the Good omens years ago so it was obvious that I will watch the show when I can! I watched it maybe 2 weeks ago?Don’t really remember but it was fantastic, and now I am in love with a Demon and and Angel.

Have a nice day!

odinoddly asked:

I wonder about Madame Tracy's arc with Shadwell. It seems to me that she gives up so much of herself at the end to be with him. Why would she do that: drop her businesses and give up her clothes and style and everything she's built- to be with a guy that isn't very respectful to her? Was there more to draw them together that we didn't see on screen?

neil-gaiman answered:

I think she had been planning to retire for a while now. As she says when we first meet her, her knees are not what they were. And she’s been living next to Shadwell for forty years. She doesn’t remember when he was the Young Shadwell of Episode 3, but she’s been feeding and looking after him now for a long time.

And yes, there was a scene that got cut, for reasons of pacing, with Madame Tracy bringing Shadwell a cup of tea and finding him asleep, and looking at him with love. (As it says in the script book, it’s probably easier to love Shadwell when he’s asleep.) (And another scene with her and Newt where you learn a little more about Madame Tracy’s business, and her email addresses.)

She’s put aside enough for a nice little cottage by the sea, and, as she says, it will be nice to have a man about the place. I don’t think she thinks she’s giving anything up to be with Shadwell. I think she’s bringing Shadwell with her, in her retirement, as much because she’s not certain that he’ll manage on his own as for any other reason.

fluffmugger

It’s a bit more readily explained in the book that Shadwell is a broken, obsessive man and both Tracy and Newt feel a sort of horrified pity for him. He lives on condensed milk and cigarettes, and it’s been indicated he also had one hell of an abusive childhood and has been kicked around a lot in life.  But he persists in his stubborn way, and Tracy has grown rather fond of him, like a feral cat that hangs around your house.    (There’s also the meta in that you  have the nominally righteous  “agent of good” being a broken, angry, verbally abusive man,  while the genteel, semi-retired prostitute who dabbles in black arts is his guardian angel)

You hit a certain age, and you keep a partner around for the company. It’s not necessarily a love affair (although it is a form of love).

hey can we talk about a cowboy au? im dying to talk about a cowboy au

"You can't beat him. Can't outshoot him. Can't outrun him. Can't even look him in the eye, and he doesn't even have the decency to put you out of your misery. He spares your life, and you know he owns it. Reckon you'd come running to find him wherever he was."

you ever meet someone who makes you wish you had a large iced coffee to slurp loudly every time they start talking

telling someone to shut up will always be the simplest and most effective shutdown, but NOTHING says a total lack of respect or regard for their opinion like putting a straw to your lips and slowly, excruciatingly taking a drag so that the crushed ice scrapes against the inner tubing while maintaining eye contact the entire time so there’s absolutely no way they can assume it’s unintentional on your part

Keith Haring - Unfinished Painting.

I read a lot meta and fanfiction in the last few days, and the theme of Aziraphale, guardian angel of the queer community, is something that I fell in love with deeply.
And both Crowley and Aziraphale have seen cruelty and wars and death through the centuries, but still?  I couldn’t stop thinking about the impact the aids crisis may have had on him.
