Reason #21 to like the good omens radio drama:
In the novel Crowley is only mentioned to have house plants, which could easily be interpreted to mean he wants some living being he can have power over to indulge his sadism. Maybe he just wants to bully something the way he feels bullied by heaven
In the radio drama Crowley turns on the radio in search of something to “calm him down” and his response when the Tadfield gardening club Q&A comes on is “perfect.” Perfect. Crowley thinks gardening club is perfect. Crowley confirmed for huge plant nerd

Yesterday my internet died so instead of listening to the music I have in my laptop (bc good god, all the music I have it’s of when I was a teenager) I decided to listen to the Good Omens radio adaptation (again). So I was dying of laugter with Shadwell and Tracy and her little scooter… and I drew this little sketch.

Right, so, seeing as we’ve had Good Omens the book, radio drama and now TV mini-series, I think the next thing we need is Good Omens the stage musical. I want tap dancing Horsemen of the Apocalypse, I want a Heaven/Hell dance off, and I need a Crowley/Aziraphale duet of ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’. Casting suggestions welcome

Oh, the Them giving Adam the pep talk to prepare for Satan in the radio drama is extremely good

The trailer for Amazon Good Omens had me so jazzed that I went and found some clips of the radio adaptation, and now I’m still jazzed for the live action version, but I’m worried that, no matter how great Sheen and Tennant are, they won’t quite measure up to the voices of Az and Crowley from that adaptation, because those two were great.
“Need I remind you what the road to Hell is paved with?”
“Frozen door-to-door salesmen; I helped pave it!”
Okay, maybe the radio drama is valid
The BBC radio adaptation of Good Omens gets a bit overlooked in these delightful “ The Series Just Got Released “ times, but I’m relistening to it atm and I will tempt you. Please consider:
- Crowley has a rather sexy voice (imo)
- cameo by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett !!! ( my kokoro )
- the fact that everything is only sound effects and dialogues is impressive
- it’s good
- it’s super fun
- some story points are a bit different from both the book and the series, so that’s nice to discover them
- the full drunk conversation is there !!! dolphins and birds included !
- it’s Good Omens material so it’s worth checking out anyway
