Ancient Mayans Were Beekeepers

Archaeologists in the ancient city of Nakum in northeastern Guatemala recently made a big discovery. Beneath a vast ritual platform dating from around 100 BCE to 300 CE they discovered a foot-long, barrel-shaped ceramic tube with covers at each end.

It is nearly identical to wooden beehives still made from hollow logs by Maya living in the region today. Their discovery is the only known Maya beehive. Since most beehives would probably have been wooden, they probably would not have survived.

I was wondering if the flashback scene of the crucifixtion where Crowley says "What did he say that got everyone so upset?" and Zira answers "be kind to each other"- was a nod to the beginning of Hitchhikers guide? The "-one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change" quote. (I also have to wonder if all the talk about whales is a reference to Douglas Adams, though that may be a bit of a stretch)

For me the biggest nod to Douglas was the opening of Episode 1. I wanted Peter Anderson Studios to make something that felt like the “computer graphics” that weren’t in the original Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy TV series.

Without Douglas — without me writing Don’t Panic! and going “I could do one of these,” — there wouldn’t have been a Good Omens.

He’s the best at eating off the plate, though he also likes to lay in the plate while he’s eating, so he’s always got dried food on his chest. He’s 5 weeks old, is a litterbox-using champion, and finds toys somewhat puzzling.
