it’s too bad the doctor who audio plays seem to play it safe more than they did back in the early 2000s and are mostly trying to replicate the tone of the tv show circa 2008, like, you know, what’s the point if they aren’t making david tennant slit his own throat with a broach or whatever. it’s his turn to get his limbs hacked off. where’s all the bloodshed. not a single person is eating a live rat in any of these
“Keep your faith. Travel hopefully. The universe will surprise you… constantly.”
I love her a lot. Blonde hair is always a challenge to portray. Is it white? Is it yellow? Is it light brown? The answer is: it’s all these colours and more. I really enjoyed the bright coloured background and the wrinkles around her eyes - cutest smile in the universe?
5hrs, colour pencils.
Appreciate the fucking aspec nonbinary representation fuckers
Read it and then read it again and if you still don’t get it, continue reading until you do
Neil Gaiman did not queerbait, Neil Gaiman signed, sealed, and delivered a queer relationship that many queer people relate to--ESPECIALLY aspecs--and to say that it’s queerbaiting just because they don’t kiss or whatever other reason people are giving for it is to erase queer experiences that exist outside of “cis allosexual mlm” and “cis allosexual wlw.”
The utterly beautiful part of what Neil Gaiman did is he gave us a queer relationship that multiple flavors of queer can relate to and feel represented by. It’s the same thing he does with how adamant he is about “Death of the Author.”
He didn’t tell you that they were gay, straight, ace, aro, or anything else. He gave you the ingredients and let you mix it yourself. He’s not gonna tell you how to bake your cake, he’s gonna let you do it yourself without him hovering and saying, “no, you’re doing it wrong.”
Because--and I’m speculating here, but based on what I’ve seen, it seems like--to Neil Gaiman, there isn’t a wrong way to do it. And that’s fucking BEAUTIFUL. That’s more than I’ve ever gotten from any other creator, to be perfectly fucking honest.
With the same ingredients, not only can mlm look upon them and feel represented, but we also get:
- Aros getting the opportunity to feel represented, because it isn’t explicitly romantic in nature
- Aces getting the opportunity to feel represented, because it isn’t explicitly sexual in nature
- Enbies & trans individuals getting the opportunity to feel represented, because neither angels, demons, nor God Themself is beholden to the human gender binary and that’s fucking important.
All of the above are groups that are ignored, erased, and/or forgotten 99.9% of the time. This is an instance of the .1% and trying to take it away from any of those groups--one of which I am apart of--just because it wasn’t handled the way you wanted it is, in my opinion, a form of gatekeeping.
Get thee away from me with that shit, you foul fiend.
It also harms the opportunity for more instances of it in the future, because “well, people hated that, so we’re not gonna do it again.”
The point is: stop saying that Good Omens is queerbaiting. I would argue that Good Omens is uniquely queer-inclusive, and that’s why I love it so much.
“Avast” means “stop what you’re doing”.
“Avaunt” means “go away”.
There are contexts in which these words are interchangeable, but exorcisms aren’t one of them unless you meant to tell the demon to stick around!
Why are you proclaiming “avast” during an exorcism, who the fuck did you call to your exorcism, Bishop Blackbeard?

“Avast, collaborate and listen.”
“Avast, because I’m about to ruin the rhythm and the style that you’re used to.”
Avast…Hammertime.

Hiya, remember that there is 30 years of Aziraphale before there was his portrayal by Michael Sheen, and also just because there is his portrayal now, doesn’t mean that you have to draw him exactly like it :). You draw your Aziraphale. Is he chubby? Alright. Is he not? That is alright as well. :)
I think that as long as you draw / write / knit… the characters with love and respect, people will see that - no matter if it’s the same image as in their head or not :).
David Tennant leaves a drunk voicemail at a radio station after eating a salad and a trifle and drinking a lot of alcohol.
