Just swapped a bunch of heads and bodies and I feel very smile about it. I was getting antsy about how many dolls were waiting for switching and how many bodies that meant I had lying around. Now I can add a pile of unarticulated dolls with the same head to the donation box, haha

I really need to keep an eye on when my doll hobby is inducing anxiety. It is so often that a solution to a doll problem is what breaks the solidified anxiety build up I have going on and I just didn’t realize it was impacting as hard as it was.

Also how to get that cat and my dolls to exist in the same space is something I’m thinking about a lot.

hawkebear asked:

Hi! I was wondering what happened to the Garashir stuff you had up on society6?

Society6 removed almost all of my Star Trek stuff, if not all.  RedBubble picked up a partnership with Paramount, however, and Star Trek work can be added on their terms.  I have a few pieces I was specifically invited to resubmit, and some I’ll try to run by them for approval.  Obviously, none of my work is explicit or anything, but Paramount is not really known for embracing people who fandom in any way but their prescribed way, so we’ll see.   I haven’t re-submitted anything because I’ve been pretty busy with freelance work and I don’t think people realize the submission process takes a fair amount of effort.   But if there’s a market for specific things it would be good to know what to focus on, so if you have suggestions or requests for things to run by the suits for approval, let me know.

one of my favorite jokes in the good omens series was a really subtle one that i haven’t seen any love for yet. when newt gets his office job in episode two, the filming style suddenly shifts to mockumentary, complete with a slightly moving handheld camera and zooming in on peoples faces, a la the office. the whole scene lasts for maybe 20 seconds, and the style shifts immediately back to what it was before once he leaves. as soon as i noticed it i thought it was hilarious and such a clever choice! kudos to whoever thought of that for such a funny and subtle joke, it may not have been very noticeable but it made at least one viewer very happy!

We finally got around to watching Good Omens

And seriously? Did you chucklefucks out there seriously not think it was explicit enough?

Spoilers, in case you haven’t seen it and want to. I’m on my bullshit and ranting so I will spoil everything and you shouldn’t read past here.

From the perspective of someone who prefers to watch things first and then read them afterwards. I take my time with books and usually figure stuff out long before it happens which means I don’t really worry about spoilers, but shows and movies happen so fast that I don’t have time to get distracted by the details and I enjoy that aspect of them. I watch it first and get surprised by things, and then I read the book and look for all the answers to the plot holes I noticed and get bonus content.

Yesterday I read a post about how slow burn meant a minimum of 57k before they even made eye contact properly or brushed hands accidentally and you are seriously telling me that you cannot see how inherently and utterly in love they are and HOW QUEER IT IS?

Queer was NOT originally a slur. If you want to talk about ORIGINALLY, it was simply a word to meant “not a stereotypical example of its kind”. Just FYI. Nothing inherently bad about it to begin with. Anyway I’m starting a tangent.. back to what I was saying.

“𝓞𝓱 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷’𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝓶𝔂 𝓼𝓲𝓭𝓮 𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓶𝓾𝓬𝓱 𝓪𝓽 𝓪𝓵𝓵…”

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞.”

They have been dancing around what they are for 60 centuries. They had to. If either of their “sides” even suspected for a moment that they were anything other than enemies who kept crossing paths, they would both be dead. Dead dead, not just discorporated. The pair of them spent 6000 years pining painfully in the closet ffs. Neither of them fit in with their families, their families hated each other, and there was no one in their entire universe who could, would, or wanted to understand how they felt for each other or even who they were.

That’s gotta take a toll. I’m pretty sure most of us know exactly how that feels.

That scene was that oblivious bloody angel realizing he could be himself, finally, after all this time, and the FIRST THING HE DOES is agree to go on a date with his favourite demon. How is that not coming out of the closet?

The series ends with them going on dates and having “Okay then what are we actually and what are we going to be in the future” conversations. The series is the story of how their love story STARTED. Of course they’re not going to be jumping straight from shyly and quietly muttered my-side-wouldn’t-like-that-I-don’t-thinks to full blown ride-me-like-a-stallion-big-boys, what they have is deeper than that and besides, neither of them has any idea how to proceed anyway. They’re both terrified! They don’t want to scare each other off! It’s all new and exciting and absolutely fucking terrifying - they’re teenagers who just escaped from their respective queerphobic parents and are experiencing freedom and each other for real for the first time in their lives.

We got handed a queer 6000 year long frenemies to lovers slow burn with literal “*insert almost any desired identity/orientation here*” instructions and opportunities on a silver bloody platter and all some of you can do is go “But no sex!!!!1!1 It’s queerbaiting waaaah!!!!”

How many of you saying that have ever posted anything about how those horrible “cishets” think being LGBTQ2IA+ is all about sex and all any of us can ever think about is sex and it’s all the fault of gay bars and kinksters at pride and and and and…? Because YOU’RE KINDA PROVING THEM RIGHT A BIT HERE BY SHOUTING AT EVERYONE THAT IT’S QUEERBAITING UNLESS THEY FUCK ON SCREEN.

Good Omens is a star cross’d queer lovers slow burn with an optional apocalypse happening in the background. You don’t have to pay attention to that part if you don’t want to though. Personally I would because it is part of the story and there’s a lot that really really tells you that Good Omens is one of Eric Kripke’s favourite books. And it’s write your own ending! Crowly and Aziraphale could end up being absolutely inseparable and completely platonic soul mates, or they could be rawing each other in the Bentley on the way back to Crowley’s place after the second course of food on that first real date they planned. All the author has said is that they’re not canonically gay men because they’re not technically men. If you read any of his posts on the subject you will find that Neil Gaiman is devoutly pro-fanfic and all he has been doing is saying “I’m not putting a label on it because that diminishes the number of people who can see themselves in it without having to jump through the mental hoops of but-what-if-they-were-my-identity/orientation-instead like we all have to do already with shows movies about straight white cis guys. He is just leaving that door open for all of us to be able to walk through. Neil and Terry wrote an AMAZING beginning for a brilliant story and they did us the absolute honour of leaving the end for us write for ourselves. They gave us permission to do exactly that too.

“But straight people liked it” and what? Isn’t that the point? To give them stories where the dreaded straights, apparently as the arbiters of what is and is not acceptable in society, see us, the scary Other that is queer people, as actual people who they can identify with and empathize with and see bits of themselves in so that they then look at us and go “Oh you’re like that character I like who is like me ergo you’re like me!” and learn to stop being LGBTQ2IA+phobic? ISN’T THAT AT LEAST PART OF THE POINT? TO HUMANIZE US AGAIN?

“How dare a white cishet male think he can speak for us though?” Do you mean the Jewish man who is in a healthy open marriage with a bisexual woman and wrote a story that mirrors many many many coming out stories in a way that allows anyone to put their own labels on it so that as many people as possible can put themselves in the main character’s shoes? He’s allow to make entertainment for us.

The only way you could possibly think this is queerbaiting is if you were a queerphobic aphobic transphobic enbyphobic biphobic panphobic bigot who thinks the only valid identities are heterosexual and homosexual. If that’s the case, the show wasn’t really for you anyway, in the same way that Captain Marvel wasn’t for cis men and Black Panther wasn’t for white people. Your opinion doesn’t mean shit. This one was good queer rep and, in the opinion of this queer, it was fucking brilliant at it.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Terry’s, the first book I ever bought for myself with my own money that I had earned at a job was Moving Pictures. The only book of Neil’s I can think of that I have read is Neverwhere, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I might be biased. I don’t care, everyone has biases. I think liking a show that was intended to be enjoyed is a pretty acceptable bias.

At the end of the day, don’t fucking like, don’t fucking watch/read.
