Fraternising is usually meant as a bad thing - if you're 'fraternising with the enemy', it implies that you've betryated your side. When Aziraphale says that they've been fraternising, it offends Crowley because to him that means that Aziraphale still regards him as 'the other side' rather than a friend (even though it's just that Aziraphale is still in denial about what they've been doing for the past several thousand years)

Thank you. Yes, I think it does boil down to the fact that fraternising has a negative meaning and Aziraphale is in denial :).

New GO fans: Making new art, writing, and meta, really excited to be here

Old GO fans: (shoving Cage Omens into the back closet) “yes hello we are a normal fandom”

What about Handziraphale and all the jokes about Crowley’s sunglasses?

If any old fan would agree to elaborate on any of this I’m all ears.

one thing i love love love about michael sheen & david tennant’s acting is how differently their two characters show love for each other.

crowley calls aziraphale his best friend over and over. he asks him to run away with him, multiple times. when he’s in danger, his first thought is to go to aziraphale. he’s verbal.

aziraphale, on the other hand, denies that they’re friends. he always fights back against crowley’s spoken love. but when crowley does things– good things, caring things, things to help him or humanity– aziraphale just looks at him. and god, i swear that michael sheen’s smile in that moment could cure the world of disease. there’s that much love in it.

Back on my omen swap au bullshit with Azirafell (Demon Aziraphale)

If you think Zira (angel or demon) hasn’t learned at least one instrument in his 6000 years on earth, you are mistaken please see yourself out immediately. He may or may not have accidentally inspired ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia‘ during one particularly raucus party when someone made the mistake of handing a very inebriated demon a fiddle after he complained that the band couldn’t play themselves out of a paper bag.

Hey, love your blog! Btw, do you know if Beelzebub has canon pronouns? I’ve seen both she and they and I was curious if there was a real answer.

ineffableplan answered:

I’ve been thinking of doing a rewatch to note all pronoun use but i don’t think either of those are used in the show. with the angels and demons, pronouns of that sort often seem to be avoided completely. (Same with god, except Aziraphale does refer to god as “she” at one point at least)

Beelzebub is he/him in the book, same with all other angels and demons mentioned, but with tv show dialogue, it’s a lot easier to just not say it?

If anyone has screenshots or transcripts please share though!

@crowleyraejepsen @redknightsky oh man i actually really love that. Definitely using zzze/zzzir for beelz now (maybe without the extra zs in fic for easier reading tho)

@aziraphalesbian Oooooh, i always took “they” in this context to mean an unspecified person, probably because of the “someone,” rather than a specific singular pronoun, so more “they” as in a random unknown denizen of hell, possibly an underling they see as disposable (because would you want to personally give the devil that news?). Never really thought about it as applying to beelz specifically, but thanks for pointing that out!

cadhla-marie

In the script, Beelzebub is referred to exactly once as something other than their name, and that is “she” (during Crowley’s execution). I still stand by they/them though, based on dialogue, as the person above said, and every other bit of evidence given in the show.

i actually went through the script real quick to look at the pronouns used i only found that one she for beelzebub and a he for michael good omens but yeah the they told his father line made me think it was a they indeed
