Ever since this reply on one of my posts, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. Just like:

Anathema Device has always loved women. She usually prefers them to men. In the day leading up to the apocalypse, Anathema isn’t all that impressed with Newt, but she trusts Agnes. In the days after the apocalypse-that-wasn’t, she decides she’s right, because Newt is a little awkward and unsure, but also sweet and kind and so very in love with her.

And then, a few months after they get together, Newt tells her, a little awkward and unsure, that he’s maybe, possibly, not a man after all, and would that be alright with her?

Years later, Anathema will curl up in bed with her wife, who drives a funny car and is not allowed near computers but who is so sweet and kind and still so very in love with her, and Anathema will smile. She was right, it turns out. She does prefer women. One woman, anyway, and that’s what matters.
