Seven seasons of BTVS and not once did we get a scene where Giles does the Dad Thing of mixing up the Scoobies’ names and having to rapidly go through all of them to get to the right one, what was even the point?
And even tries ‘Angel’, although Angel isn’t even there. Maybe throws in ‘Clem’ or ‘Joyce’ or 'Jenny’ as well.
Nah, this must’ve happened at least once. I’m calling it now: it’s canon.
Giles called Buffy “Joyce” once (or vice versa) and has never lived it down
Actually now I’m thinking about it the real tragedy of the show is that we never got a scene where one of the Scoobies accidentally calls Giles “Dad” like…we could have had it all…
