‘Never build a dungeon you wouldn’t be happy to spend the night in yourself,’ said the Patrician. ‘The world would be a happier place if more people remembered that.’
“Granny Weatherwax slept with open windows and an unlocked door, secure in the knowledge that the Ramtops’ various creatures of the night would rather eat their own ears than break in.”

i think terry pratchett captured a very salient point in the clash between science and religion when he had a character say "they’re always telling folk how much better it’s going to be when they’re dead. we tell them it could be pretty good right here if only they’d put their minds to it.“ unfortunately, i can never recall the fellow’s name.
thinking about the discworld characters where one of them is just a shy which with an aggressive alter that’s supposed to represent her ideal self as a “cool” girl and reverand mightily oats who refers to all of his thoughts that contradict or question his religion as “bad oats” & didn’t believe they were really his own thoughts like i think thats the whole dissociation spectrum

YEAH!
absolutely and like, witch and werewolf is an inherently Good Combo, but also like…
idk just the fact that they kind of consider themselves… a little plain and unimportant? they have jobs to do, they’ll get those jobs done, but despite the fact that they’re both these absolute heroes, they’re like “well, i’ll just do my bit, and that’s the important thing”
and anathema is way more aware that she’s the protagonist of her own story, and angua is much closer taking the second slot, but that! works for the two of them! and idk, angua,,,,, a few steps behind anathema at the shoulder, and anathema turning around and grabbing her hand and pulling her closer????
i’d say kill me but i’m already dead
Almost forgot I could upload this now! I’m part of a birthday card exchange and the friend with a birthday today loves Discworld. So here’s Great A’Tuin, my first ever attempt at a Discworld fanart. :)

I was talking about policing, not alcohol. There’s lots of people will help you with the alcohol business, but there’s no one out there arranging little meetings where you can stand up and say ‘My name is Sam and I’m a really suspicious bastard.’
