I went into Good Omens expecting to like Crowley as my fav considering my track record for characters like that and I really like him, he’s fantastic, but man, Michael Sheen as Aziraphale just got me hooked straight away.

Just look at this little soft Marshmallow and his little smile and urgh he’s just so soft and I’m gonna cry

Good Omens

I finally saw the first episode, and only one question remains: why the !@#$ have I been denying myself this pleasure for so long?

The word “sublime” comes to mind. To the point I’m not sure I can actually say something intelligible about it, just yet, because I can’t quite break it down – it simply is awesome. I’d say it’s tailor-made for a Brit-loving, pseudo-skeptic-still-believer-theologically-informed-but-not-constrained-by-orthodoxy whatever the heck it is I am these days, but also probably tailor-made for so many other types on that spectrum.

Also, the memes and art and so much else do not do it justice. What can I say? Sublime.

Go watch the thing, now.

The great thing about Good Omens for a fic writer is that any historical AU doesn’t even have to be an AU. It could have happened.

So if, say, I wanted to write a story where Crowley and Aziraphele run off to Lord Byron’s villa in Switzerland for the summer and find themselves in a literary salon with Byron and the Shelleys. Aziraphele is just so taken with the lovely romantic boy poets, he wants to stay up all night chatting with them. But Crowley is so terribly bored with the countryside that he holes up in the study with Mary Shelley and helps her refine that ghost story she’s been working on.

And like… I’m not saying it happened, but it could have happened!
