“Well, that’s us - impossible.”
The Impossible Planet - deleted scene - season 02 - 2006
My dad (an avid coin collector) has been joking since I started this project that, with over 1,000 envelopes, at least one of them was bound to have money in it.
Well today, with envelope #837, I have received my payday…

A July 1896 letter from Jennie to Will that I transcribed today contained a single 1892 Barber dime.
There was no context in the letter as to why a dime would be included - which leads me to wonder if this was just a case of Will having some lose change sitting on his desk that got stuck in the letter when he put it back in the envelope.
1892 was actually the first year Barber coinage (named after Charles E. Barber, the Chief Engraver of the US Mint) was struck. They were minted until 1916.

How dare he try to bribe me, thought Moist. In fact, that was his second thought, that of the soon-to-be wearer of a goldish chain. His first thought, courtesy of the old Moist, was: How dare he try to bribe me so small.
