mister neil richard mackinnon gaiman really was out there writing a whole ass love song into aziraphale and crowley’s relationship and referring to them as “the couple” and having them hold hands and casually saying they live in a house together and then being confused and surprised when fans ask if they’re gay

like i understand and respect that he didn’t intend them to be read as romantic and it’s really excellent that he still lets us interpret them that way, but it will never not be funny to me that one of the most beautiful and subtle love stories i’ve ever read was created entirely by accident

I feel like a lot of that came from the fact that in the first short version of the story, they were one demon character. Splitting them into two people in later drafts caused them to come across as soulmates.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY SKILLS WORKBOOK: CHAPTER 5

Exploring Mindfulness Further

“The mindfulness skills that are at the core of the dialectical behavior therapy approach are actually linked directly to a much larger and more ancient tradition of meditation. In that larger tradition is a significant body of experience and wisdom related to developing and practicing mindfulness. This experience and wisdom has much to offer anyone interested in mindfulness, whether they seek improved psychological or physical health, personal enrichment, or even spiritual growth.

This chapter invites you to explore mindfulness further by trying some additional practices adapted from the ancient tradition of meditation and now appearing in many clinical settings that teach mindfulness-based approaches for a variety of health-related conditions.

First, you will learn about the role of ‘heartful’ qualities of kindness and compassion and how they are actually embedded attitudes in any activity of mindfulness.

Next, you will learn how mindfulness can deepen, breath by breath in the present moment, by attention to and the support of the dimensions of spaciousness and stillness.

…this chapter invites you to bring attention more consciously to these qualities and discover their power to support and deepen your practice of mindfulness.

The intention and hope is that you will develop an even deeper appreciation for the power of mindfulness to support you, promote your happiness, and lead you increasingly to rest in wise mind.”

i fucking love your artstyle? and who even am i, i don’t Art, but the roundness and smoothness and simplicity and brightness really Bring Shit Out in a way that i wouldn’t expect and really enjoy

Thank you!! Although I can’t take full credit, but watching Wander Over Yonder really helped me figure out a lot of toony-style and also taught me how to draw lines, how to color things, and that anyone who ever said bright colors aren’t natural or don’t look good in art was wrong !!!

Simple stuff is nice and I really dig it. I think a lot of other people do, too. It’s why stuff like Adventure Time or Steven Universe or those types of shows really hit it off well, too, in my opinion.

So I’ve decided to try my hand at dming a one shot game for some of my coworkers (most of them have never played dnd before) So far our party consists of:

A goblin bard named Stipply who has a magic instrument that changes to whatevers funnest in the moment

A teifling fighter named Keith whose just trying to pay his family’s randsom

A terrifying salamander warlock named Ferdinand with -5 intelligence and +7 charisma

And a literal twelve year human child named Kidd as their cleric

I could not be more excited to dm this highly cursed party

lafthecorgi

-5 intelligence and +7 charisma is singlehandedly the funniest and most terrifying thing I’ve ever heard about a dnd character

Ferdinand is one of the more horrifying dnd characters i have ever experienced. Hes a big bipedal salamander. Hes doesnt speak, he just smiles and points at things and nods with increasing vigor until you do the thing he wants. He only craves revenge. His patron doesnt know how he summoned him.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY SKILLS WORKBOOK: CHAPTER 3

Basic Mindfulness Skills

“…for the purposes of this book, mindfulness is the ability to be aware of your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and actions—in the present moment—without judging or criticizing yourself or your experience….The truth is, no one is 100 percent mindful all the time. But the more mindful you learn to be, the more control you will gain over your life.

But remember, time never stands still and each second of your life is different. Because of this, it’s important that you learn to be aware ‘in each present moment.’ For example, by the time you finish reading this sentence, the moment that you started reading it is gone and your present moment is now different. In fact, you are now different. The cells in your body are constantly dying and being replaced, so physically you’re different. Equally important, your thoughts, feelings, sensations, and actions are never exactly the same in every situation, so they’re different too. For these reasons, it’s important that you learn to be mindful of how your experience changes in each individual moment of your life.

And lastly, in order to be fully aware of your experiences in the present moment, it’s necessary that you do so without criticizing yourself, your situation, or other people. In dialectical behavior therapy this is called radical acceptance (Linehan, 1993a)…”
