Oh he did his best to make their short lives miserable, because that was his job, but nothing he could think up was half as bad as the stuff they thought up themselves. They seemed to have a talent for it. It was built into the design, somehow. They were born into a world that was against them in a thousand little ways, and then devoted most of their energies to making it worse. Over the years Crowley had found it increasingly difficult to find anything demonic to do which showed up against the natural background of generalized nastiness. There had been times, over the millennium, where he’d felt like sending a message back Below saying, Look, we may as well give up right now, we might as well shut down Dis and Pandemonium and everywhere and move up here, there’s nothing we can do to them that they don’t do themselves and they do things we’ve never even thought of, often involving electrodes. They’ve got what we lack. They’ve got imagination. And electricity, of course.

Dear Amazon Marketing: Good Omens is a Pratchett book too

Hi casual reminder that when Pterry and Neil were writing GO, Neil’s comics were suddenly picked up and he had an ‘oh shit’ deadline to finish them. So Neil had to step back on the book and Pterry stepped up and wrote a lot more than they had originally planned.*

I’m just saying, most of the marketing is saying that it’s basically Neil’s book, and that’s just not the truth. Terry wrote more than half, possibly more than that. Considering the man is DEAD of early onset alzheimer’s, I just want credit to be known.

*This was not a drama or anything. They were very professional and collaborated very well. They were good friends to the end, and Neil provided a lot of support helping Terry finish an audiobook co-project when his memory was very poor.

DOUBT THERAPY FOR OCD: MODULE 6

“Seeing How You Reason Selectively in OCD Doubt but Not in Other Situations”

Aim: to make the person aware that the reasoning in OCD is selective to certain areas of life and that the person uses another type of reasoning in other areas.

Content: person undertakes exercises to establish how they reason in other “dangerous” but non- OCD situations and activities, such as crossing the road. The person reflects on why there is no OCD ritual necessary in non-OCD situations, and also learns about the inefficient self-sabotaging nature of OCD reasoning.
