i have a very emotional response rereading the forward to good omens because the first time i read the book i remember reading it and not understanding how a book could disintegrate from being read so many times but now i’ve lived it. i’m one of the fans they’re describing. and that makes me feel something i can’t fully describe and i get a little teary eyed and have to stop reading it for a good five minutes to cool down

I am… so high-key excited for all the Good Omens fan resurgence all over my dash??? like, C/A was Baby’s First Slash Pairing, for one thing (I’d been in fandom for like three or four years prior, but all in het), and I no-lie learned so much by sitting and listening to some of the older women writing in that fandom–daegaer and @vulgarweed, especially, and @irisbleufic, and just quietly lurking. And it was such a kind fandom, and remains so, and that was the fandom I met the first other fic reader in, at a Latin convention of all places, and I just–
Crowley and Aziraphale are old friends to me, and I love them so much. Everything about them. I love them so much, because they were really important for me when it came to pulling out some stuff I’d internalized, and because they are so themselves, and there were so many talented writers who gave me so many things to think about as a teenager.
God, that was all around 2006–that was ten years ago now. I’m still so affectionate about them, though. I hope the series does them justice. I never thought it was ever going to actually happen.
