I know ep 3 is going to be super fast cuts of Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship through 6000 years in short, probably comedic scenes but I’ll be DAMNED if I don’t analyse and screenshot the fuck out of every single one as if they’re their own 3 hour movie
ivory-leigh asked:
aziraphale neglects to groom his wings for a couple of reasons. he doesn’t like to indulge in vanity, though gluttony is fair game, apparently. and he really doesn’t see the bloody point in it, no, he’s an angel, after all. their wings are wonderfully made, no matter what crowley says. no matter the light teasing and taunts uttered under the demon’s breath as he tugs at loose feathers, hands and fingers sifting through his wings.
“does your boss know you go around like this, angel?” he gives a huff. smooths over the same spot once more. then snorts. “no, no, bet you gabriel walks around with the same …”, a growing smirk in his tone.
there’s a long suffering sigh from aziraphale. it’s the sigh of someone who knows where this is going, of someone who has had this debate one too many times. “i don’t know what you mean, crowley.”
“of course you don’t. i’ve spent the last hour grooming them for you!“
and okay, perhaps that’s another reason. albeit one of the smaller ones … because, if he neglects it for long enough, crowley will fuss at him. brow furrowed, eyes hard with concentration from behind his sunglasses as he focuses entirely on straightening the feathers of his wings. fingers gliding across his marginal coverts, trickling down his scapulars …
and aziraphale isn’t one for sleeping, really. it’s not his scene. but crowley’s hands are so soft where they touch him that he is sure he could fall asleep beneath those fingers. rest easing knowing he’s in good hands and even better company.
David Tennant is Crowley part of the SFX magazine article:
WHEN YOU READ THE SCRIPT, WHAT BITS WERE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT PLAYING?
There’s a chunk at the start of episode three where - having got to know Crowley and Aziraphale in the first couple and having set their quest in motion - we then sort of flash back and get this sequence of scenes where we see their relationship developing throughout history. When you first read that, you kind of think, “We’re never going to do that. That’s going to get cut.“ Because we go to the Crucifiction of Christ for a page. We go to Shakespeare’s Globe for two pages. We’re in Ancient Rome for half a page. You just think, “We’re never going to be able to afford this. The schedule won’t be able to take it.” I think one sequence went, but the rest of it is still in there. We get to do do so much dressing up. We get to have so many ludicrous verstions of these characters through time - the Georgian version of the characters, the full [suit of] armour version, the Garden of Eden version… That’s part of the testament to Neil’s tenacity and Douglas’s vision and, indeed, Amazon’s pocket - that we’ve been allowed to tell that story.
Michael Sheen is Aziraphale part of the SFX magazine article:
HOW DID YOU TAP INTO AZIRAPHALE’S PERSONALITY?
I decided that he’s someone who has an appreciation of craft and quality. Because he’s been around for so long. that’s something that he really responds Whereas Crowley just manifests his clothes, and is very much of the moment. Aziraphale has worn items of clothing over the centuries that he likes. And then if he’s an angel. and therefore a being of love, how does that affect his relationship with Crowley, someone who supposedly on the opposite team, but who he can’t do anything but love? What are the specifics of that in terms of how he relates to Crowley? You start to develop a very real person with very real qualities.
DID YOU APPROACH PLAYING AZIRAPHALE AND CROWLEY AS IF THEY WERE A KIND OF ODD COUPLE?
I can’t imagine Aziraphale without Crowley. More than anything I’ve ever done. I can’t think about this character on his own - he only exists with Crowley. So from the very beginning. when we sat down at the table read. my Aziraphale was totally shaped by what David was doing as Crowley, and vice versa.
DOES AZIRAPHALE WANT TO BE CROWLEY A LITTLE BIT?
I think that there are things about Crowley that he really admires and covets, but I don’t think that he wants to be Crowley. I think he just loves Crowley. He would never admit that. and Crowley would never admit that about Aziraphale. He admires certain qualities about him - he would like to be a bit more rock ‘n’ roll, but he knows that it doesn’t really suit him. He also really enjoys being Aziraphale. I think.
So Aziraphale has apparently had THAT RING since at least the time of Golgotha! This changes things completely.
