  • *last week, I went to dinner with my friends and my mum babysat Badger. We have a strict nighttime routine, that always included reading. Our current reading is, of course, Good Omens, because he wants to watch the show with me. Last night, my mum told me why they had not advanced in the story at all that night*
  • Mum: Your Mum told me you guys are reading this book. Shall we pick it up where you left last night?
  • Badger: Nana, can you do voices?
  • Mum: What do you mean, baby?
  • Badger: When Mummy reads to me, she always does different voices for eeeevery character, so I know exactly who is talking. And she can also do really funny voices when they're drunk!
  • *I bet you know what scene of GO Badger is talking about. He laughed so hard he had hiccups after, and he kept repeating "The point is!" in his own, cute drunk impression*
  • Mum: Well, baby... no. I can't really do the voices the way your Mum does, not anymore.
  • Badger: ...That's okay, then, Nana. You can tell me a made up story instead. I can't really enjoy this book properly without the voices.
  • So, in short, I'm living my frustrated-voice-actor dream every night, in front of a really small, but really demanding audience.

we’ve got to support the fuck out of this weird little show, let’s be honest the effects are a bit janky and prosthetics are wild, often ugly and ridiculous and the script has lines like “you can call me an old silly but I think the devil is coming” like what??? but it’s weird and wonderful and I won’t let it be ripped apart by critics expecting some gritty or frankly bland series protect this madcap genius

No but legitimately Az and Crowley must have such interesting relationships with their appearances like in humans ‘ugly’ characteristics are rlly often ones you feel ashamed of or powerless to change but when you can literally change your appearance at will do you have that sense of shame?? Do you literally not care what others think of your corporeal body because it could never be ‘you’ anyway?? Do they view aesthetic beauty and ugliness the same way we do or does the concept of ugliness literally not exist??

Anyway I guess what I’m really asking is a) does Crowley know how physically repulsive that beard is and b) what the FUCK is gardener Aziraphale

I’m overjoyed about Good Omens’ TV adaptation because I was SO worried that Gaiman might make it darker with an emphasis on conflict and peril, a little more like American Gods or Sandman. Instead Gaiman DIRECTLY funnelled the divine energy of Pratchett straight down this series’ gullet and it’s incredible.
