I missed the discourse boat on this bc I’ve been totally logged off from discovery stuff for the past two months but I actually really appreciate the Paul and Hugh storyline that’s been happening. like. In the context of today’s day and age I don’t know how behind killing Hugh in the first place but what it’s LED to - a path to a complex, fully realized evolving relationship, and CHARACTERIZATION FOR HUGH - are all good things. like I’m sorry but if you’d rather Hugh had gone back to being Paul’s Supportive Love Interest and never had the opportunity to have his trauma make a real impact, or to develop independently as a character… like jeez, don’t pretend that’s the height of progressivism either?

Hello, Friends-in-Pratchett,
Sept 11 is always a challenging day here in New York City. But Rob Wilkins reminds us that today is also the tenth anniversary of the publication of NATION, which was written in the midst of Terry’s PCA diagnosis. The novel was a bestseller on both sides of the Pond, and went on to win many awards–it was even adapted for the stage by the National Theatre, and live performances were beamed onto movie screens across the globe (it wasn’t a very satisfying adaptation, but still…).
Today is a day for remembering. But as Terry told us, “When much is taken, something is returned,” and I put those words on the cover of his book. If you haven’t read Nation yet, I sincerely hope you will. Thank you.

The gig economy takes a lot of well deserved crap from people, but it hasn’t really been taped by the video game community as a subject matter to be explored. This is shame, because it’s absolutely perfect mechanically for a video game.
How do I know this? Embr exists.
Embr is a frantic fire-fighting (un)Simulator set in a hyper-capitalist, deregulated alt-present where public firefighting…
Woodhenge is a masterpiece of engineering. How did Omsk people build it using only the simple tools and technologies available to them?
