This is very out of nowhere and I recognize that but I've recently developed a big interest in Star Trek novels, and wanted to let you know that yours are some of my absolute favorites!! I finally finished Doctor's Orders yesterday and it's a GEM, it's an absolute JEWEL

Thank you so much!

(grin) Just an example of a general tendency for me: when I find something to like about a doctor, I like it quite hard. (See also: Four. Five. Ten. Thirteen. Watson.)

Does lemon actually decrease the sex drive if it does how and if it doesn't are there foods that are actually capable of doing so

no, no it doesn’t. I know there are plenty of foods that claim to influence your sex drive one way or the other (usually many of them claiming to be aphrodisiacs) but usually, those claims are…pretty bullshit. Messing around inside the human brain enough to influence sex drive is pretty hard.

Like, a lot of brain meds will do it! a common side effect of for example anti-depressants is a decrease of sex drive but again: those are brain meds. They’re meant to go across your blood brain barrier and do something in there.

There are things that make it potentially harder to say, get or maintain an erection, but any user of viagra can tell you that ‘no boner’ =/= ‘no sex drive’

if you’re allergic/intolerant to certain foods but continue eating them anyways, this may impact your sex drive, because lowkey background misery is not usually conductive to wanting to get laid. That’s not the same as ‘this food lowers sex drive’ because sex drive itself is a very complex thing influenced by many factors beyond food and I would be extremely cautious of any claims that a food will lower your sex drive.

I know there are some that supposedly bring does testosterone levels, but finding studies that prove that in the human is…tricky, and then you’d also need to check if that actually influenced sex drive because look. Testosterone doesn’t happen super much to your standard issue human female and YET they still have sex drives. Plenty of it.
