‘Now I know you saw something, sir,’ he said.  ‘You were there.’

WELL, YES, said Death.  I HAVE TO BE, YOU KNOW.  BUT THIS IS VERY IRREGULAR.

‘You see, sir,’ said Corporal Carrot, 'as I understand the law, you are an Accessory After The Fact.  Or possibly Before The Fact.’

YOUNG MAN, I AM THE FACT.

'And I am an officer of the Law,’ said Corporal Carrot.  'There’s got to be a law, you know.’

YOU WANT ME TO…ER…GRASS SOMEONE UP?  DROP A DIME ON SOMEONE?  SING LIKE A PIGEON?  NO.  NO ONE KILLED MR SLUMBER.  I CAN’T HELP YOU THERE.

'Oh, I don’t know, sir,’ said Carrot.  'I think you have.’

Terry Pratchett, “Theater of Cruelty” (A Blink of the Screen)
(Oh my gods, Carrot.  The most lawful good straightforward person in Ankh-Morpork, and he thought to QUESTION DEATH about a suspicious corpse.  And this is while he was still a corporal!  Anyone who underestimates Carrot Ironfoundersson does so at their peril.)

Hi! I've been having trouble with my needles widening the holes in the aida, but none of my thinner needles can thread 2 strands. Do you have any suggestions?

So,
Fry uses whatever tapestry needle she can get her hands on that isn’t a huge honker for weaving in yarn ends. She actually purchased some really nice, thin, gold plated ones from the internet, and they are so smooth and stitch like butter, it’s actually tactilely stressful to use them. Guess she needs to get used to them.

That said, are you using tapestry needles? Even the thinnest Fry’s gotten (28) will still thread easily. Most needles will widen the hole in the aida, but that’ll go away once you prep it for framing- or even while you’re still working with it.

Hey so today in “I thought this Discworld thing was just made up, but it’s actually real”:

Sacharissa’s spike based filing system. It was a real thing used in Victorian Era offices, but it was more of a between state between a paper being in use and being thrown away. It wasn’t so important you couldn’t stab a hole through it, but you wanted to be able to retrieve it if you had to.
