Hello Mr. Gaiman, I'm about to publish a book in the next couple of weeks. I'm incredibly nervous about it because although I doubt it'll ever become something noteworthy, I decided from the very beginning that if I was going to write something, I wanted it to be a story that could be meaningful to anyone who read it, and not just me. Despite the support I've gotten from family and friends, I don't know if my work is truly any good. How did you feel, and what you you recommend?

Write the next book. It’s not for you to decide whether what you are writing is any good or not. That’s up to your book, and the readers it finds, and posterity. It’s not within your control. So write the next book: that’s something you CAN control.
