Today is the birthday of David Rappaport, pictured here in “Time Bandits” (1981) and as Kivas Fajo in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Most Toys” (1990). During the filming of the latter, Rappaport, who suffered from depression, attempted suicide. The role of Kivas Fajo was recast with Saul Rubinek playing the character as Rappaport was unable to complete filming.
Tragically, David Rappaport succeeded in committing suicide on 2 May 1990.

In PT school I’ve learned a lot of things including how to connect with patients, use differential diagnosis skills, and educate. With a profession that involves the intimacy of human touch, it can be both powerful and scary. We were asked to watch a short field recently on Vaginismus, a condition of the pelvic floor that causes involuntary contractions with stimulation.
As PT’s, we recognize that the pelvic floor plays a large role in stability, movement, and in some, pain. I encourage you to take 10 minutes to see from the perspective of a patient and recognize the power taboo has in healthcare and information consumption.
If you have questions, please feel free to comment or DM. I encourage safe spaces for conversation and have a 0 tolerance for bullying or shaming.
book legolas is pretty cool but film legolas reminds me of one of those incredibly beautiful, incredibly stupid long haired pedigree dogs that you sometimes see in grooming parlours having their claws painted purple. like you could just pick him up and look into his eyes and there would be nothing going on behind them. film legolas has the elvish version of elevator music playing in his head at all times and i honestly love it
