In an issue of Fantastic Four set in the Marvel offices, since things were very slow with the FF’s real life, Jack Kirby suggests making up stories about the FF to put in their comic book. 

The suggestion horrifies George Perez (hey, he had hair in the old days!) and Roy Thomas…and Stan Lee, in the last panel, shoots it down.

LPT: If you’re unsure how to complete a large task but know what you need to do, “deconstruct” what you need to do into separate, simple steps. This makes the task seem much easier, and makes you feel like you’re getting somewhere as you work.

LPT: If you have spent a long time filling up a text-box on a web-page, copy the entire text to your clipboard before hitting Submit. Chances are that the server will return an error due to inactivity; but you can simply paste the text and resubmit.

Fantasy doesn’t have to be fantastic. American writers in particular find this much harder to grasp. You need to have your feet on the ground as much as your head in the clouds. The cute dragon that sits on your shoulder also craps all down your back, but this makes it more interesting because it gives it an added dimension.
