Scans from Dragon Quest e no Michi (aka The Road to Dragon Quest) by Hiroyuki Takizawa. Made in 1990, circa Dragon Quest IV and the peak of Dragon Quest-mania in Japan, this slice of life manga details the origins of Enix and the Dragon Quest crew.
It’s presumably a very romanticized version of the story, but seeing this era of game development depicted in comic form is interesting (not pictured is a bit where the in-game maps are being drawn by hand on grid paper). Also note the acknowledgement of the influence of Wizardry and Ultima on Dragon Quest’s development.
There doesn’t appear to be any fan translation of this unfortunately, and I’m not sure if there’d be much of a demand.
I actually like the accents in Dragon Quest IV. While many may say that they’re really hard to read and talk bad about it. I think that they added a certain charm to the game. It also adds a bit of character to the forgettable NPC in my opinion.

Statues of the Heroes obtained for compleating all the sidequests from each Dragon Quest world in Dragon Quest XI on 3DS.
(Note: This feature is exclusive to the 3DS version, which Square Enix is not localizing.)
In the beginning of Chapter 2 of Dragon Quest IV, if you check the bookcase in the castle church where Kiryl stands, it says there is a single drawing of Alena. This is what I pictured:
