I love the heroine of Dragon Quest IV a LOT!!!!  I feel like this art isn’t finished but it has been sitting in my folder at this stage for like a week and I am just gonna post it now!!

I also wanted to try out putting more body mass on a character rather than the noodly bodies I usually draw!!

I love this scene. Establishes the princess’s character, her seeking more than her sheltered palace life, and her determination to get what she wants in life.

Also Brey (Borya) seems like he’s referencing Zelda, 
“It’s dangerous to go alone! Here, take this!” 
“It’s reckless to journey alone! Here, take us!”

I wonder if the Japanese harkens even closer to the reference?
