What I really love about DS9 is how masterfully they show how no one just, does evil, because they’re evil. There are always an elaborate set of justifications, a moral standard that allows for it. Gul Dukat could find a reason for every single atrocity. Kai Winn thought she was doing it for Bajor. The Founders wiped out planets without remorse not because they had no value for life but no value for solid life. Evil people don’t think they’re doing evil, this is crucial to understanding them
