Elbows are so weird.
It’s just such a corner right there on your body. You can use it to elbow people.
You can knee people, too.
Elbows and knees are your verbs.

I really want a show set in the Kelvin timeline so we can actually address the fallout of Star Trek 2009. What is life like on New Vulcan? How do Federation politics change now that one of the founding members are an endangered species? How does the academy cope with losing 90% of its cadets? What is the political situation with Romulus now? Do we tell them their sun is going to supernova in 2390? If we do, do they believe us? If we don’t and they find out we know, what are they going to do? Do we hold them accountable for Nero’s actions? How does Vulcan culture change? How much information did Spock give Starfleet? Does access to red matter/Nero’s ship/Spock’s ship advance Federation technology the way the Defiant advanced the Terran Empire? Does the fact that Nero killed 47 Klingon ships by himself speed up the Klingon-Federation alliance in fear of the Romulans? Does the fact that one ship took out Nero make the Klingons fear us and ally with the Romulans? How does transwarp beaming so early affect Federation society? Do Vulcans become more or less closed off as a society now that there’s only a couple thousand of them? I have so many more questions
I want to knoooooooow
I also really want an in-depth look into their law enforcement (of course I want that for the prime timeline as well, though at least we have Section 31 there). Jim doesn’t bat an eye when Pike says the phrase “peacekeeping armada” as though that’s not an oxymoron, and that cop that chased down baby Jim in 2009 looked terrifying. If that’s the norm in the 23rd century, that doesn’t seem like a utopia, it looks like a dystopia that has effectively brainwashed it’s citizens into believing that it’s a utopia
Saying there is no life on other planets is like getting a cup full of sea water and saying there are no fish in the sea
I think SETI recently said that if the galaxy was an ocean. We have scanned about as much os a hot tub for signs of extra terrestrial intelligence. And that is of course assuming we are even using the right tools to detect any alien signals.
this analogy is really good on multiple levels because, sure, that cup of seawater might not have any fish in it, but it probably has hundreds if not THOUSANDS of different species of microscopic organisms but if all you’re looking for is fish you may think it’s empty of life

I kind of want to make a bunch of tables and procedures for randomly generating hexcrawls in the style of Caves of Qud.
“Welcome to our town, traveller! We detest [Paladins] and admire those who respect [Flames of Phlegethos]. Would you travel to the nearby [kobold lair] and drink from the [Flames of Phlegethos]-like clay pot for us?”

I really want to make a cat jungle gym for our kitties
