hi im a woman living in a post apocalyptic environment/desert island on a tv show and i have the smoothest armpits u have ever seen
GOD WRITING THIS FIC IS SO HARD AND I KEEP ERASING AND RE-WRITING THE SECOND CHAPTER IN DIFFERENT WAYS HHHHHHGH WHY AM I DOING THIS INSTEAD OF WRITING DUMB FLUFF
The Orb of Possibility is the name under which I’ve been titling my weird little Star Trek AU drabbles, framing them as glimpses through a Bajoran Orb- veiws of alternate realities.
So, in my first The Orb of Possibility story, To Be Cardassian and Human, the basic premise was to have little snippits wherein Bashir is a Cardassian and Garak is a Human and the challenge was to see what’s the same, what’s different, and how their lives lead them to such similar points and personalities.
And now I’m having problemssssss
Problem One: I’m considering rewriting everything I already have so far but like frick I dunno if I wanna keep Bashir a doctor or not I really like him as a doctor still but also Tailor-Bashir who is just straight up the nicest friendliest dude
Problem Two: Holy balls Human Garak is hard to write for some inexplicable reason. Well, no, it’s for an obvious reason- because his species heritage is such a heavy part of his character, and it’s weirdly difficult for me to write human pride somehow? I don’t even know why! Also, Section 31 is weird. I think I gotta re-watch Section 31 episodes and do some more reading.
Problem Three: I KIND OF WANT TO JUST SKIP RIGHT AHEAD TO A MIRROR EPISODE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT GUL BASHIR IS A FREAKIN’ PANTY-MELTING CONCEPT
So, what do I do now? Do I just skip ahead and write to my heart’s content about the absolute terror of Gul Bashir (or would he be Obsidian Order Operative Bashir??? Unff) And should I swap anybody else’s species? I mean, do I need to? Obviously some parental figures will need to be altered, but…uuuuuugh. FANFICTION PROBLEMS
I think I’ll just draw Gul Bashir/OOO Bashir tonight and then debate on if HumanGarak should have Andrew Robinson’s lil’ goatee or not
spodiddly
