Also known as the rockweed or kelp isopod, Wosnesenski’s isopod is a species of Idoteid isopod that occurs along the shores of the western seaboard of North America, ranging from British Columbia to California. P. wosnesenskii usually inhabits the intertidal zone and is often found on rockweed and kelp. P. wosnesenskii is usually a greenish color but it is adaptable and its color can change based on its environment.

So I’ve been rewatching Babylon 5 with my sister (second time for me, first time for her), and we recently finished “Dust to Dust”. Right at the start, she was like: “Oooh, Bester shows up again, the creep!” And I said: “I’m glad you think of him as a creep, a lot of people didn’t think he’d be creepy enough after Chekov.”

Note that she’s never really watched Star Trek besides the new films, and has only seen clips here and there while I was watching the entire franchise half a year ago. So she flipped, predictably, and I showed her pictures of both characters to confirm that, yes, I was not pulling her leg, and she was greatly and vastly amused.

And ever since, she hasn’t been able to stop comparing the two, even commenting on how Chekov seems more malicious in her eyes now. Sometimes she’ll mutter, “I can’t believe Bester’s Chekov,” with awe in her voice, like she just did from somewhere behind me, two days after the fact.

This amuses me more than it should, but I love how impressed she is.

ETA: She just went on to mention that, as you see the TOS films progress, “You can see the Bester coming out.” Help, I’m dying from a gigglefit.
