- Dax: I prefer the serialist poets from the First Republic, like Iloja of Prim. He's easily my favourite Cardassian writer.
- Ulani: It is so rare to meet a non-Cardassian who appreciates our literature.
- Dax: I took an interest because I had the chance to meet Iloja.
- Gilora: You knew him?
- Dax: One of my previous hosts, Tobin, met him when he was in exile on Vulcan. As I recall, he had quite a temper.
- Ulani: Really?
You know, I’ve watched Deep Space Nine hundreds of times and I’m STILL not sure if Gul Dukat is insane or not.
I’ll tell you one thing, nephew. If the Federation had listened to the Ferengi Alliance there never would have been a war. We would have reached an accommodation. We would have sat across the negotiation table and hammered out a peace treaty. One that both sides could live with.Rule of Acquisition one twenty five. You can’t make a deal if you’re dead.
- Major Kira: The energy decay of the power core indicates it dates back to the building of the station.
- Odo: That's 18 year ago. I suppose the Bajoran underground could have smuggled it aboard during construction.
- Odo: Before I took over as head of security.
Star Trek DS9 3x13 - Life Support
Who was your favourite Trek doc’? For me, it was Bashir.
SPOILERS WARNING.. snuff whump :(.. but for me this whump is more about Bashir doing the doctoring so that’s ok.
So, there’s a shuttle accident which leaves vedek Bareil badly injured. After some badass doctoring (ok I admit, this part of the Trek universe bugs me because it always just seems like they’re making it up as they go along) he died, but is then miraculously brought back by some even more badass doctoring (the badass-ness of the doctoring is conveyed mainly by the nurse/assistant being very very skeptical) but sadly this isn’t a permanent fix. But there’s still some yummy-yet-bittersweet moments to be had. And did I mention badass doctoring?

Basically the whole thing is designed to make the viewer hate Kai Winn more (if that’s even possible) because she needs Bareil to help her with some super-important negotiations with the Cardassians, and this forces Bareil to forgo Bashir’s recommendation to put him in stasis in order to buy time to find a solution and thus leads to his death.
but.. this causes a rare occurrence in the Trek universe; a doctor who actually physically touches his patient. >.>
