Inside The Recently-Found Chinese Cave System So Big It Has Its Own Weather System
A team of expert cavers and photographers had been exploring caves in the Chongquing province of China - when they were amazed to discover the entrance to a hidden cave that was previously undiscovered. When they entered the cave, they found it was so large there was even a cloud inside it. Photographer and caver Robbie Shone, from Manchester, was part of a team of 15 explorers on a month-long expedition who stumbled across the natural wonder.

Images From Space Confirm Pakistan Earthquake Created A New Island
We now have confirmation from space that a new island has formed off the coast of Pakistan. Yesterday, NASA sent their Earth Observing-1 (EO-1) satellite to check on the situation, and it took the picture on the right above (and below). The island is most likely a pile of mud from the ocean floor that erupted as a mud volcano shortly after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck northwestern Pakistans taken by the Landsat 8 satellite on April 17. The region has seen mud volcanoes in the past, including one spied by satellites in 2011.
The volcanoes form when mud and or water is squeezed out of the sediment on the ocean floor, which may have been caused by the earthquake in this most recent instance.

Another great photo shoot from Bill Eppridge, this time of the Apollo 11 crew.
Even though these are seemingly very simple portraits, to me they reveal so much about the personality and chemistry of the crew.
