Wait wait, but from Crawley (the town) it went to Crawleigh (in William the Antichrist). It was when Terry separated the two characters that he became Crowley, do we know why?
I imagine the "E" was dropped later in Eden to make "Crawly" to emphasize the snake aspect... but maybe I am wrong.

And then I brought it full circle to Crawley in the script book.
(I lived near Crawley, and it was funnier to me than it was to Terry.)

Lighting study for a Middle Kingdoms concept-art image: “Afternoon Off.” The King of Arlen and his husband go down to their local for a snack and a drink with the neighbors.
…Various things to be handled here before it’s ready. The leather textures on Freelorn’s jerkin need to be made a lot smaller for the time being. (They were just kind of slapped in there originally while I was looking for a figured linen or satin texture that would work better on that piece of clothing. Still looking.) Also, some more small pose changes on him are still to come.
Herewiss’s pose isn’t where it needs to be yet, either. Though the extremely nice Red Crow Inn set (for Daz Studio) also has its own set of character pose presets, they’re rarely perfect “out of the box”. Slumping or leaning poses have to be individually tweaked so as to give the right sense of “weight” or relaxation… and generally, it’s easier said than done: hours of work, sometimes. But when a pinky out of place can completely ruin the look of a character pose, you learn to take the time rather than wind up with an image that somehow just never looks right. …And Dusty’s expression needs work, too.
Ah well. Got a lot of other things to do today. This can sit and stew for a little while more.
An ettercap is a hairy bipedal humanoid with silk glands like those of a spider. Early examples resemble bugbears, but later generations have spider-like features. (Looks like a Russ Nicholson, AD&D Fiend Folio, TSR, 1981)

Stop being anti-intellectual and blaming "historians" for your inability to do the most basic research on this

(Note to self: while working on these issues, find the eponymous Hero a better material for that shirt.)
(per @rembrandtswife‘s comment [”Find that man a GOOD shirt, because his CHEST deserves it.”]: well, not arguing…

…But finding a decent shirt at all on Daz is the challenge. Most of their men’s clothes are none too great… and a well-made men’s shirt? I have yet to find one.
Some of the ones that seem like they might have possibilities are just frustrating, because they either aren’t dForce enabled (that being the draping and animation engine) or they’re just badly made. This one would be typical. (“’What, do you call this a sleeve? It is like a demi-cannon, carved up and down like an apple tart.’”)

(…sigh) It’s too late at night to get started down this train of thought. But most of the shirts that fit at all acceptably are very idiomatic (i.e. obviously “pirate shirts” or whatever…). It just makes my head hurt. :/
