I just think it's not outside the realm of possibility that since Spike and Giles were clearly both punk or punk-adjacent counterculture in the 70s/80s they may have crossed paths and hooked up. I think Giles would remember this, with horror, regularly, and live in constant fear that maybe one day Spike would also remember and then tell people, and have to comfort himself with the fact that no one would ever believe him.

hi!! this is random, but I just wanted to thank you for posting positive stuff and facts about ticks. I’m one of the people who loves all kinds of gross bugs but had a serious fear of those bc I have chronic Lyme, but I’m planning on pursuing a PhD in entomology and don’t want to hate any bug. Your tick posts have helped a lot!! I’ve gone from not being able to look at them to appreciating all their different markings and weird lil bodies!! this blog owns

I’m so happy for you!!! I imagine having chronic Lyme would make it infinitely more difficult for you to get over your fear, so that’s amazing, good job! Good luck pursuing your PhD! And thank you for your kind words :)))

yea this is Montreal, do you want to know how bad Montreal drivers are? only on the island of Montreal, is it illegal to make a right turn on a red light. because they don’t fucking look. it’s the only place I’ve ever been that has lost it’s “turning on a red light” privilege

but yea powdered snow is slippery af and the island is hilly and full of narrow streets. not designed for wheeled vehicles.

probably the most interesting Gurathin line is the part where he says “Do you think you’re qualified to make that call” (about killing GrayCris agents if MB has to) and MB is like “I’m more than qualified, I’ve extracted clients from situations that were less than 7% survivable” and it feels like they’re talking at cross-purposes, Gurathin thinking about if MB, as an ex-corporate construct, has the ethical background/qualifications that give it the right to decide who lives and who dies, and MB dodges the question (ambiguous whether it’s ignoring the subtext or legitimately thinks it’s literal) by going directly to its physical abilities. Everyone else in PresAux seemed more concerned about making sure MB was ok and trusting its judgment to get Mensah out but Gurathin seems to be thinking more about the ethical implications about working with MB entailed. Anyways that’s what made that nice puzzle-piece click feeling when Gurathin started getting vaguely theological in the middle of his survival horror adventure in I Don’t Like You

vintgememry asked:

I’ve never seen a velvet worm before! Can you please share some facts?

Velvet worms are a delight! They look like polite little friends but are in fact predators that shoot sticky goo at their future bug meals. Highly recommend looking up videos of this, it’s wild. Also! They may be small but they have complex brains and some species live and hunt together in social groups. Cute :)

secondimpact asked:

do you have any gardening tips to share?

Plant your tomatoes in raised beds or under tents – this will save water and also get tomatoes to be earlier. Grow your beans in black plastic barrels. The more soil the beans have access to, the bigger the beans will be. Use black pepper in tomato sauce to get it spicier. Put a little basil in the tomatoes, then when they’re ripe, remove the basil leaves and use them as a cover for dinner. Tomato juice is the best seasoning for pizza. Try to have an outdoor party on the last weekend in July.
