No matter the quality of your creations, remember that you're the only one in the world who can make them exactly like that. They're all unique contributions to this world cause no one else can do it like you. Don't let comparison and competition make you forget that you got a perspective no one else in the world can express.

This is wisdom, and something it’s desperately important never to forget.

And don’t mistake this realization for some mere manifestation of ego. Only your unique location in spacetime, only your unique upbringing, only your unique view of personality and life and events and relationships, is capable of producing the voice and worldview that you bring to your art.

Wasting time in comparisons is folly. Life’s too short. Waste your time trying to be another [ARTIST NAME HERE], the next [WRITER NAME HERE], better than [ANY OTHER TALENT’S NAME HERE], and all you’ll have at the end of the day is frustration… because without fail there will always be people to argue the point and declare that you fell short, missed the mark, couldn’t compare or compete.

Spend your time concentrating on being the one and only [YOUR NAME HERE], and no one will be able to argue that point in any meaningful way. (They might claim that you could have been a better [YOUR NAME HERE], but what’s the point in that? So obvious. …And anyway, every artist worth their salt has their eye on that prize.)

Go do your work. Let your work tell the world who you are. Everything else will follow.
