skullcache asked:

Any facts about fluffy moths?

we can all agree that fluffy moths are absolutely adorable and we want to squish their little faces like an indulgent grandparent, but all that fluff isn’t actually fur!

image

it’s made of long, fibrous outgrowths of the moth’s exoskeleton, called setae, and it’s not always soft to the touch.

image

some setae are stiff and bristly, and some are downright irritating and can give you a rash!

so all in all, best to admire from afar.

Oh Glorious Bunjy of Wunjy's, have ye any Cursed Puffer Fish facts to share?

puffer fish have a bite so strong that they can crunch right through just about any hard-shelled creature with ease! doesn’t matter if you’re a snail, clam, mussel or coral polyp, you are as nothing before the armor-piercing beak of the Puff.

cursed biology about the only shell they can't pierce is probably the scaly-foot gastropod actually

Can we go back to when horror movies were called "satellite of blood" or "theatre of blood" or "palace of the damned" and "the screaming never ends" cause like now we keep getting these one word title horror movies like Hereditary and Relic and Censor and it's like this doesn't tell me anything about the level of blood, screaming, or whether everyone in it is damned

I’m gonna submit one more post, if that’s alright. I’ve been so excited to share these!!

It’s certainly all right to share many bugs, I want to see them all! These are all great but especially the worm…I feel a deep connection with that lil friend…you didn’t ask for IDs so I’ll assume I’m just meant to admire :)
