Reconfigurable Continuous Track Robot (RCTR) by Tal Kislasi and David Zarrouk (2020), Ben Gourion University of the Negev. This minimally actuated robot uses just three electric motors, although it has no steering as yet. The real magic is in the continuous track that encloses the body. The links that form the track can be left flexible, or locked in place at zero or twenty degrees as they pass around the front wheel of the robot, while a passive release mechanism on the rear wheel unlocks them again. This compliant track enables it to climb, bridge gaps and obstacles, and adapt to uneven surfaces.

Nidhogg, a formidable creature of chaos that rips apart Yggdrasil’s roots in Norse mythos! For @dnd-scratchpad, congratulations!
The artwork used is a stock render by Cerragirl. It isn’t exactly Nidhogg, but it’s a giant, terrifying serpent. So, it’s decently close.
