@hoku-san These two beetles both live in Japan, and are fairly likely to interact, as they do both have territory in the island of Kyushu. The flat headed black one is hilariously named the Dorcus beetle, and the brown one with the long ‘nose’ is a Japanese rhinoceros beetle. Though beetles spar in nature, it’s important to me that people don’t think it’s normal to force them into stressful situations to prompt aggression for entertainment.

@hoku-san this doesn’t appear to be the wild, given what looks like a blue screen behind it. If it were footage from the beetles in their natural habitats, then yeah, it’s just a good catch and they’re lucky to have caught it on film. But there are beetle death battles all over YouTube where people pit them against each other like in cockfights.
