  28. brynpoo said: I’m 67 and started in fandom in the late ‘60s. Doing the write-in campaigns to get NBC to save Star Trek. It was small groups, meeting together to write as many letters as possible. When ST was gone, it was motel grieving sessions. Then some group put together a con in a real hotel with SF writers! And once got William Shatner to come, along with Nichol Nichols and Dee Kelly. Sat in the front row and listen to Shat! Bought lots of fan fiction from mimeograph machines. Wild and fun!
