  24. francesweyr said: While I am totally in agreement with the “don’t release” folks, I’d also like to add that a large cold water fish would need a very large tank with excellent filtration. In my experience koi (a species of carp) require a lot of cleaning, so I’d think that would be the same. Not a cheap set up. When the koi got too big for the tank, they went to live in an ornamental pound, not the river.
