  41. allbotherswithheld said: I know next to nothing about the finer points of Star Trek continuity but a real life transition from tailored outfits to “athleisure” type uniforms happened in the US Air Force after 9/11. Before 9/11 most people with desk/office jobs wore dress uniforms to work. After 9/11 all members were authorized to wear (much more comfortable) “combat” uniforms for duty-even if they were pharmacy techs or intel analysts. Not saying thats the case here, but it may be a semi-plausible explanation.
