  11. shituationist said: a famine did occur and around 3 million people did die as a result. the effect of the famine was exacerbated by soviet policies of grain requisition, but this was largely the result of the bureaucracy’s lack of knowledge of and lack of concern for local conditions. repressive responses to peasant resistance to collectivization and a poorly devised system of incentives for peasants combined into a catastrophe that imo has given our movement a black eye ever since.
