  38. eyestumblin said: people tend to ask “how are you” for two reasons. 1. polite greeting ritual. 2. they want to make small talk. in case 1 it’s always, always ok to say “it’s just one of those days”. Follow up is usually not required. in the case of 2 going with literally anything interesting that has happened to you in the last week or two is a fine way to steer the conversation.
