OH WOW YES!
Julian must have gotten a hold of that Dixon Hill program he’s always wanted!
Somewhere Odo just had his first orgasm.

What I wouldn’t give for a tour…
Whenever I get sad that most of my ships are non-canon, I just remember that one time I shipped a main character slash pairing on a sci-fi show for six and a half seasons
and then one episode
one of them dreamed about making out with the other

no space pollen
no retcons
no excuses

DS9 is the best Trek series. No doubt in my mind. Most complex, most diverse, embraced long-form storytelling, explored non-scientist roles in the future, explored post-scarcity culture meeting totally different economies… It is not without flaws, but of the franchise…
these are not very good neck scales
i am a little bit disappoint
A+ ridges, as always, not feeling the scales
but at least he cut his hair

Well, these neck scales were probably done at about four in the morning before shooting. And it’s just the right side that’s a little wonky.
He’s shedding his scales, OKAY? Sometimes they grow back a little funny.
SO RUDE. I mean, who comments on that? Scale-shedding is very private. You just DON’T remark upon it even if you see evidence of it having happened.
Seriously, you guys, have some manners. This would never be acceptable to talk about on Cardassia Prime.
LOL!
New headcanon accepted!
I am so embarrassed that I even brought it up. /blush!/ How terribly gauche!
How embarrassing do you think it is, if scales do grow in awkwardly? I can just imagine a well-to-do Cardassian woman having a Bad Scale Day and showing up at the office wearing an elaborate scarf to try and hide it. It fools no one. By lunch everyone’s murmuring about Illiana’s Time of the month around the watercooler. (And by that, they do mean scale-shedding.) By the end of the week, everyone gets the memo that work-place sensitivity training is now required for this sort of thing.
Oh, it’s totes a scarf issue. Wrap it around the neck, up around the head, and if you’re polite you don’t say anything, but the Mean Girls make loud comments about how fetching it is.
And Cardassians going through puberty shed like nobody’s business, especially the males. SO EMBARRASSING.
At the Public Baths, little robes are provided for Cardassians who’re having a sheddy kind of day, because a) embarrassing, and b) nobody wants to look at that.
I know I shouldn’t even ask. It’s just a made-up thingy to make the show possible in the first place.
That said, does the Universal Translator translate written language too? If it doesn’t, that means Odo can read Ferengi and Bajoran and probably Cardassian, and Kira can read Klingon (which I kind of don’t believe).
If you’re a tourist on Cardassia, and you have a UT, can you read the street signs?
Season 6 Episode 3 Sons and Daughters
/snipped my commentaryOhh, I love this episode!
It’s a chance to see Kira, Dukat, and Ziyal acting like a family, however messed up that is.
I love it when they’re looking at her paintings and they both have the same look in their eyes.
Dukat and Kira are both so genuinely happy for Ziyal and it just gives me the best family feels.
It’s true. They both do love Ziyal.
In a way, Dukat weirds me out even more because he really loves his daughter. When she behaves. Otherwise he abandons her on a space station, because he doesn’t think she’s displayed the proper filial respect. Psychopaaaaath~
Do we know what happened with his marital life, after he reclaimed power on Cardassia? Did his wife come back? I can’t see that being a happy household. Eeeek. Poor seven little Dukats.
Seriously, though. How do I find this so adorable?
I think it’s time I started going to Trekkies Anonymous meetings.
