The crew of Deep Space Nine by Joshua Howard
Aren’t you going to sit down, sir?
I think I’ll stand.

the top would be ALMOST tolerable if it weren’t those fucking pants i would rather be BLIND???
frigging Cardassians tho!
As per the Iron and Ash supplement, Cardassia Prime has a 344.35-day-long year, and a 26-hour-long day, and it takes about 26 days for the moon to orbit, so a month is presumably 26 days long.
Twenty-six does not divide by anything except two.
How long is a damned…
oh god, don’t mess with this! now sit and fix a whole calendar, for Occident it only took 1600 years!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, i am with your husband hehe
I knew you would be, you and your Cardassians and their perfect memories and their ever-changing pasts, how they figure out any kind of schedule is beyond me! /mock-shake of fist!
oh oh just imagine it:
“My dear, we have a date at 24:43 the 38th day of the 8,765 week of the 9,5 month… and if you are too human to remember it, it is not my fault”
i know rite???
And Julian’s kind of in a bind, because of course he remembered they had a date, he is unable to forget, but would a normal Human remember that they had a date? Does he remember or does he forget? This damned eidetic memory is not doing him any favours, and Garak’s going to figure it out!
(this is fun)
but this is a “code” for a date with Julian, because his enhanced brain can understand it and no other… and so Garak will have again the chance to tell him that he and computers think alike and then Julian (this “someone is going to sleep on the couch tonight” look kills me)
And Garak finds it so adorable when Julian is openly hostile! “Oh, Doctor - you are such a romantic. Flirting with me so openly like this!” But he knows Julian isn’t flirting and he’s totally saying it just to piss him off.
/squeee space boyfrahnds!
They have a sadistic love of technobabble. But I actually quite enjoy it. It’s the nearest thing to Shakespeare, stretching the mind to get your tongue around it and make sense of it when you talk.

our months don’t divide perfectly into weeks either, though! only non-leap year februarys are exactly four weeks.
Oh. /blinks, feels stupid
You’re totally right and I’m a goof.
Thanks!
/skips away
haha, don’t worry! stuff like that happens to me too. now you can have fun deciding how long to make a cardassian week! is it six days? eight? 8D
Six, I think, because that divides close enough and feels about right. Work five, off one. If you’re lucky.
agreed. i wonder how high a rank you need to actually get the day off… (spoilers: if you’re important enough to actually get the day off, you always always always have something officially unofficial that needs doing that day. or that’s always when the attempts on your life are made. >:( )
That sounds about right. If you don’t spend your day off working towards the glory of Cardassia, you’re probably a Romulan in disguise. Don’t you want to further the glory of the Union? What do you mean, you want to sleep in? On your feet!
