Deep Dish Journaling

ladyyatexel

So for lack of any better way to do this, I’ve just made two of them: one on LJ, and one on DW.

The plan would be to have them mirror each other, but if one proves just overall better, we might just use only one?  I had already started the LJ one when the DW option was mentioned with good points, so now there are two.   I can mirror them manually if someone doesn’t have two accounts or doesn’t want to post in more than one place.  Might also just make one account single-person access only and use it like LJ’s fandom_secrets and just have every post on one be a link to a post on the other.  WHO KNOWS

I have nothing in them but a test post, and the info is generic, and the layouts are generic, and there are no icons, tags, or interests beyond the basics.  If these actually get used in some significant fashion, we can see about actually customizing these and beefing this shit out.

I tried to have the most open settings possible without them being a free for all.  There may still be some limitations in areas just because I overlooked them, and they’re not meant to be a giant wall. Let me know if there is something you cannot do, because it was very likely my intention for you to be able to.  I have the journals set now on some kind of ‘there may be adult content in here, but it’s not strictly adult’ setting, just so everyone is free to post whatever.

Which is what you should do.  Post the shit you’ve already made, post the weird speculative stuff you haven’t put on the tag here. Repost your art, your fics, your ridiculous manips of logos and Dukat eating pizza.  Just go put things up there. One place, both places, whatever.    It would be lovely if you posted your tumblr name if it is not the same as your LJ/DW/Open ID name, but there are literally no rules or requirements at this point.   I will be fighting for a nice tag system so we can sort by ‘character ideas’, ‘episode rewrites’, ‘fanart’, ‘recipes’, ‘death threats’ whatever, but it is hard to tag nothing and I don’t even know if they will let members tag things!

If, again, these get some actual use, it might be find to grab one of you fine folks to help me fart around with these so that I am not sole pizza mistress of journal land or whatever.

So yeah, use these as you will!

I’ve probably already said this before; but I just love the Cardassian’s architecture - it’s just so swooping and majestic.

The whole Cardassian aesthetic was inspired by ancient Egypt. When designing the Galor class vessels, an ankh shape was the chief inspiration in order to create something that was a huge departure from the dual nacelled convention that most Trek starships were going with. Pyramids were then added to the model to serve as weapons turrets. Also, the traditional female Cardassian hairstyle as seen on Natima Lang, one of her students, and Major Kira (when she was transformed into Iliana Ghemor) closely resembles the Nemes headdress worn by many Egyptian pharaohs.

The skies are green and glowing

Where my heart is
Where my heart is

Where the scented lunar flower is growing
Somewhere beyond the stars
Beyond Antares.

I’ll be back, though it takes forever
Forever is just a day
Forever is just another journey

Tomorrow a stop along the way

Then let the years go fading

Where my heart is

Where my heart is
Where my love eternal is waiting
Somewhere beyond the stars
Beyond Antares.

Host trill are a marsupial species, as evidenced by the transverse abdominal slit that the symbiont is inserted to in an early episode of Deep Space Nine. When in development, an infant Trill is transferred into the pouch and bonds with the parent in a similar way to the symbiont of a joined...

I had this weird dream last night that Siddig and Andrew Robinson were trying to market this machine that made instant pancakes in addition to being a life support network  They weren’t called pancakes though- Siddig called them “flatbreads” or something of the sorts. I kept calling them pancakes despite his insistence though.

I vividly recall Siddig giving me a hug because I was feeling down; it was nice of him but I don’t even know why I was upset to begin with… I mean, free pancakes???

So that’s my informative post of the day, enjoy everyone!
