The sand in Okinawa, Japan contains thousands of tiny “stars”. These “grains of sand” are actually exoskeletons of marine protozoa, which lived on the ocean floor 550 million years ago.

1st, 2nd & 3rd gif: the camera zooms out from kira sitting alone on a table to show quark coming from behind the bar carrying a tray, and julian standing on kira’s right with his arms crossed in front of him. “karvino juice, lorvan crackers, a holosuite program, a jumja stick and gambling tokens.” quark lists the items as he places them on the table one by one. kira looks annoyed and in disbelief.
4th gif: julian takes one step forward, “now, at least two of these items must be used and fully enjoyed before you leave this facility” he informs kira, who looks down at the items.
5th gif: “julian, i…” kira tries to find an excuse but quark interrupts her, “i’ll be giving you a full report of her activities, doctor.”
6th & 7th gif: quark leaves kira and julian alone, and julian steps in to fill the space quark occupied. “and if i hear you didn’t completely relax and enjoy yourself tonight, we’ll do this every night until you do.” julian uncrosses his arms and holds him behind him. he leans down and grabs the jumja stick and hands it over to kira, he tells her, “have fun!” kira grabs the jumja stick from his hand.
8th, 9th & 10th gif: julian smiles as he walks away from quark’s. kira
looks down to the jumja stick and sighs. the camera starts to zoom in on her.
kira is smiling when she puts the jumja stick down and grabs a drink. /id end]

The distance between Castle Dracula and the city of Klausenberg is about 150 miles overland (several people did several calculation)
Jonathan starts climbing after noon (I assume Dracula departs the castle at noon precisely for Liminality reasons) on June 30th. (Sunset that evening is about 8 pm so that gives him max eight hours to get out of range of the Ladies if he’s going to live, which he does).
On August 12th, Sr. Agatha says that he has been in hospital for “nearly 6 weeks.” That suggests that he arrived no later than July 3rd, because otherwise she would have said “more than 5 weeks”.
The train from Klausenberg to Budapest takes 8-12 hours. Jonathan probably therefore boarded the train the previous day, so no later than July 2nd.
To have done this, he needs to have covered the roughly 150 miles between the Castle and the Station in less than three days. In his socks. With no supplies. Possibly while missing a third of his blood.
This singular event I have dubbed the Jon-a-Thon, in deference to one of the more common misspellings of his name and the implication that Phiadippides wants what he has. Look under my tag for more math and occasional art!

It even comes with its own radio-controlled pet, called 'Wires', with its own pet-carrier. "A bit more utilitarian than robots serving drinks or selling products is Jerome Hamlin's ComRo I. This robot made its debut in the latest Neiman-Marcus Christmas catalog. It operates two ways, by hand-held remote control, or by a programmable microcomputer in the robot's head. ComRo I could make life a little easier with its built-in vacuum cleaner, wireless telephone, digital clock, black and white TV, and manipulator arm that can lift up to 10 pounds. The price for such ease, however, is $15,000. But its purpose really isn't to make life easier, says Mr. Hamlin, who built ComRo I in an abandoned garage. ''It's basically a toy – more recreational than practical.'' So far, Hamlin has sold two ComRo I's to Japan and one to Saudi Arabia. The product may be more technologically advanced than the other robots, but its sales seem to be trailing in the dust."
Hoo boy, you want to talk about vaporware robots, look no further. They were supposedly a high end thing, and it didn’t go anywhere. Plenty of 1980s books make mention of this robot, but none of them actually have any concrete information beyond what you might see in an advertisement. It’s a ghost of a product. Detailed specifications seem to be non-existent, as are manuals or other documents.
Here’s the part that blows my mind the most: the internal computer is a Synertek SYM-1. I’m also a sucker for that right light "eye”. Mysterious, thy name is ComRo I.
